Wednesday. I am informed that my diary is to be published, on the internet, beside the Professor’s. Beside it! As though our two hands were comparable. Mine has flourishes.
Very well. Reader, you are welcome. You will find here my evenings in the crypt on Lake Street, the guests who left before the moon, the many who did not, and my long courtship of a Bride who has not answered a letter since before your great-grandparents were born.
You will not find the secrets of my graveyard. I do not write them down. A Count who writes down his secrets is a Count who ends up with somebody else’s notebook in his tomb.
If you wish to visit, the house keeps a calendar and the house answers the telephone. I do neither. I wait.
